FAQs

What clothes do I bring?

  • 2 hats
  • 2 pair polarised sunglasses
  • Tubular neck scarf/neck gaiter (eg. Buff)
  • 1 pair old sneakers (can be left behind)
  • Enough clothes for a couple of days including long-sleeved fishing shirts and light fishing trousers if you wish.

What should I expect?

On arrival settle in for your first dinner and get to bed early ready to fish the next day.

Daily fishing times can be flexible as best suited to our guests.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner supplied daily. Beverages available to order.

A trip to the tip to get your photo with the sign is available on request.

What gear do I bring?

You can bring some lures.

Your favourite fishing reel if you wish.

You can bring rods but they must be in a travel case less than 1.2m or 1200mm.

How do I get to the island?

Fly into Cairns from your home city in the morning, then catch a connecting flight to Horn Island in the afternoon. Flight to Horn Island are operated by Qantas.

Upon flying into Horn Island you will then transfer to the helicopter pad, and enjoy a helicopter thrill ride across the tip of Australia over to Albany Island. Helicopter transfers are operated by Nautilus Aviation & Coastal Rotors.

The helicopter lands right on our beach at the front door at Albany Island.
